SORE throats are usually caused by a virus and normally clear up after 4 - 5 days.

It is very important not to exceed the stated dose of paracetamol
- read the directions on the packet carefully.

Consult your doctor if your throat is so swollen that breathing is affected, if the sore throat is still getting worse after 3 days or if you have earache or a high temperature 39.5°C (103°F).
